Solar Panel Maintenance
What a solar system actually needs over its life — which is less than you might think, but not nothing.
Low maintenance is not no maintenance
There are no moving parts and nothing needs servicing annually. What the system does need is someone occasionally checking that it is still doing what it should.

What to do yourself
Look at the monitoring monthly. That is genuinely most of it. A sustained drop against the same period last year is the signal worth acting on.
What needs a visit
Fixings and clamp torque, isolator condition, connector integrity, the roof covering around the array, earthing, and inverter error history. Every few years is sensible for most systems.
Budget for the inverter
Over a twenty-five year system life, expect to replace the inverter at least once. Planning for it beats being surprised by it.
